great escape

This time it's different. Never have I been so excited about the prospects of a new year. And I just hope it lives up to its promise. I mean it can't possibly get any worse. Unless of course if I get meningitis, lose my job and get engaged to a bull horn. But the possibilities of that happening seem remote. So I am off to Uttarakhand for five days. With myself. And my camera.

So I wish everyone a very happy new year in advance. Enjoy the parties. Get suitably sozzled. Wipe your hands on your friend's curtains. Sleep with their nameless divorced friends. Lie about your stupid job.

Those of you who remember what all you did wrong, blame the punch.

I refuse to do all the things you are telling us to do, while you go off on your mini vacation with your camera.

I, for one, intend to invite something auspicious by focusing on what I want (to improve on) in the new year and not being debaucherous...

And Happy New Year to you too!

Same to you!

I am very curious to know though.. if there's any reason behind your writing in small sentences? No reason.. just curious. :-)

hehe you have such an imagination.
I hope you have a great time!
I'm hopeful about the new year too, not me in the new year, but the year in itself. lol

happy 2008, phish!

Happy Hogmany (as we Scots call it). I hope you enjoy your break!
This is my favorite day of the year. People who don't know *the real me* (whoever that is) don't believe it, but I get out my pots and pans and run in the streets being as loud as possible and everything!

When all the celebrations have died down, and the memories of (hopeful) orgasms from one night stands with nameless divorced friends have been lost to newer ones shared with no one, when other parties have become more fun than the one picked for New Year's Eve, when it's not the first of January, or even January, anymore, you will still have your pictures, you will still have your life, intact, regardless of its shape, colour or level of sanity. That will make it all have been worth it.

Kudos, phish.

I'll toast one drink to you; albeit quietly, to not give false impressions that I'm gay.

And add 'making my peace with solitude' to my list of resolutions.

- Ty

P.S.: Thanks for the blogroll, if I figure it out, I'll add yours as well.

Five days with your camera, sounds like bliss. Can I request a post or two about your experiences, and about your camera's experiences? And of course the interplay of the two.

And happy New Year belatedly. I will take your advice for all occasions. It wasn't me; it was the punch. Hey, that works quite well. Thanks! :-)

videoxy - just got back. still haven't gone blogging with a vengeance yet. trying to balance life out. and unpaid bills.

meraj - thanks mate. it was really wonderful. next trip has been planned already. do tell me if you want to be a part of it. something tells me you wont mind at all.

mystique - damn woman, just start using it. there's nothing scary about it. and someday you will manage to do that.

educatedunemployed - your blog read good. felt guilty and nice for evoking the sacred Es. Falling in love is not an option. Yet.

sunrise - its simpler. precise. helps cut short the fluff. hence. dig?

devil mood - best of luck on your new venture. your site looks great and i hope to consult you very soon. just lie to me, will ya?

chrispito - happy hogmany. you scots put a lot of romance in things. aided by volume. wish to visit that part of the world some day. been a fantasy ever since i learnt how to read.

void - do agree with you. find myself better this month. a sense of calm prevails. the hangover of the mountains. sanity is in check and yes the pictures do make a difference. hopw you are doing good too. have you learnt how to blogroll yet?

kimananda - of course, you may! in a sense, it was this space that motivated the trip somewhat. some have been uploaded, more to come in the next few days. do tell me if you dont like them :)
