easy, boy

Back. The trip was rejuvenating. It's a different thing that at midnight on New Year's Eve I found myself in a parking lot of the Government Guest House in Nainital. I got two and a half phone calls. And 13 delayed text messages from numbers I didn't recognise through the next few days. The temperature was hovering about freezing point and for the majority of the trip I was excited about feeling cold.

Now that I am back, I have decided to take it a little easy. The people seem slower and their lives seem altogether undisturbed by my absence. My mail box is full of junk. I also think I am unauthorized to do any hard work.

Yes, the trip was rejuvenating. Check here if you want to see the pictures. Here, if you don't.

Happy New Year.

Vintage Superman cartoon from the New Yorker.

How do you find such fitting comic strips to all your posts? Have you got special comic powers, Super Phish?

I'm curious about the 2 and a half phone calls...

Happy 2008!

gauri gharpure - i am glad someone did. took me a while to find a connection between the two. or is there?

devil mood - call it a latent talent. and i quite like the ring that 'super phish' emanates, yes? got a call from parents. one from my brother on goa. and another 15 sec call from a cousin. hence. half.

I've been waiting for you to come back and write and lurk.

I love that we are almost LITERALLY on opposite sides of the world from each other. 12.5 hours apart.

Your new year started well before mine. Did you get any insight that I should know about, before the sun hits my windows again in the morning?

(This robot at blogger.com won't let me auto-sign anything radiotooth, but only videoxy. Not trying to be coy...)

I found the insect cell expression very interesting too:) almost as interesting as your photographic cell expression...so glad you found a measure of peace in the mountains, it almost feels like you're touching God, huh, that's if you're a believer. Remind me to write a post about bells.....

meraj - yes. a certain easy calm prevails. mountains do that to people. next stop by the sea.

videoxy - the only thing i learnt is that i can be terrific company to myself. and talking to strangers can be uplifting.

smiling dolphin - you wouldn't believe it but most people did :)

anonymous - k? pack you bags now. if you need far off places, drop me a line. i am brimming with information now.

k - there is no place safe enough for a girl. then there is everywhere. depends on what you prefer. mountains or the sea. the true pleasure of travel comes from the littler places. half-discovered. esp for budget travel. let me know your preference. will try to be of help.

Ha ha ha I can't believe you subjected people to insect cell expressions systems instead of your photographs. That is called vendetta methinks. :P

Your photos are lovely...and like Devil Mood, I too am in awe of your cartoon-finding prowess. A definite super-power, I'd say.

life unscripted - you are more than welcome. do give me a sketch of your budget and preferences and i will help you chalk out a nice-ish plan. (phishpot@gmail.com)

educatedunemployed - yes, i thought that would hav ebeen funny. and i am glad there are people to appreciate it. thought it would be lost :)

kimananda - call it the passion of a failed cartoonist. but i am furiously talented otherwise :)
